At Oceanside Surf School, we pride ourselves on being a local institution that is deeply rooted in the surfing culture of the Oceanside Pier. Our expert instructors have a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to introducing new surfers to the ocean and helping retired surfers get back in the water. When you sign up for a lesson with us, you can expect a comprehensive experience that includes board rental and the option to rent a wetsuit on site. We want you to be comfortable and prepared for your lesson, so we recommend bringing your own towel and water. Our Private lesson is a truly remarkable experience that is designed to give you all the tools and techniques you need to start a lifetime of surfing. Our expert instructors will break down 20 years of surfing expertise into a 20-minute on-land session, and then spend 70 minutes testing your skills in the water with the instructor helping your surfboard take flight.

After your lesson, you'll have a much stronger perception of how to pursue surfing, and you can follow this up by taking more lessons and applying these skills on your own equipment. Surfing can be an amazing experience with our trusted instructors, and we work hard to ensure your first experience in the ocean is a wonderful day. Safety is our top priority, so we make sure to show you the ocean in the safest way possible. We want you to have fun and enjoy the experience, because teaching surfing is our favorite expression.

When you come to Oceanside Surf School, be sure to bring surf-ready water wear, rash guards are recommended, and if you would like to use your own equipment, please notify us ahead of time.
